    What is fiber optic closure?

It is designed to provide a protective environment for the delicate and sensitive fiber optic cables, ensuring their longevity and maintaining optimal signal transmission.

    Fiber optic closures are typically used in outdoor or underground installations where the fiber optic cables are exposed to harsh environmental conditions such as moisture, dust, temperature variations, and physical stress. These closures are made from durable and weather-resistant materials, such as high-strength plastics or metals, to provide robust protection.

    The primary function of a fiber optic closure is to house and protect the spliced or terminated fiber optic cables. It provides a sealed enclosure to prevent moisture or other contaminants from entering and damaging the delicate fibers, which can result in signal loss or degradation. The closure also offers mechanical protection against impacts, bending, and pulling forces that could damage the fiber optic cables.

    Fiber optic closures are available in various designs and sizes to accommodate different installation requirements. Some closures are designed for aerial installations, while others are suitable for buried or direct-buried applications. The closures may feature different sealing mechanisms, such as gaskets, o-rings, or heat-shrinkable sleeves, to provide a secure and waterproof seal.

    The fiber optic closures are widely used in optical cable laying applications in communication, network systems, cable television, and optical cable network systems, and play a important role in protecting fiber optic cable.


    How to install?

    1. Open the fiber optic closure. Check whether the main components and accessories have been well prepared inside the package.

    2. Determine length of the fiber cable to be fixed and stripped inside fiber optic closure, and reserve enough length of fiber cable to be spliced;

    3. Strip off protective coat of fiber cable from the temp;

    4. Separate fiber cores and prepare work prior to fixing fiber cable;

    5. Fix the cable by clamp, fix the cable strengthen core by core fixing kit;

    6. Fusion the input and output fibers together;

    7. Install heat shrinkable protective sleeve and house fibers;

    8. After the installation is completer,check up comprehensively;

    9. Assemble and fix fiber optic closure housing.
