On July 12, 2019, the PON Network Technology Seminar organized by Shenzhen Sopto Technology Co., Ltd. was successfully held at the Grand Hotel Yangon, Myanmar. The participants were composed of more than 60 people including Myanmar's main operators, merchants, project engineers, etc.

Then, Sopto's CTO, Jing Luo analyzed the current international trade situation, he pointed that Chinese enterprises face unprecedented challenges because of the increased tensions, meanwhile this is also an opportunity for enterprise self-development. The pressure of the situation has prompted Chinese technology enterprises to pay more and more attention to their independent research and development, and constantly innovate to ensure that they can control the core technology.

The full name of PON is called Passive Optical Network. It is composed of Optical Line Terminal (OLT), Optical Network Unit (ONU), and Optical Distribution Network (ODN). PON system can transfer data in two direction with one fiber. The advantage of PON is that has Higher bandwidth and longer distance. Coverage 20KM but low loss and interference than traditional cable network. PON structure requires no power supply and no electronic parts during transmission, so it is easy to install and basically needs no maintenance, so that the long-term operation cost and management cost are greatly saved
